About twenty years ago, Lana V. Tupchik, began her legal carrier while still in law school, working as a legal assistant at a large firm, and volunteering as a services provider in cases of domestic violence, sexual abuse and child abuse and neglect. After obtaining her law degree and excelling in advocating for parents and children in the areas of abuse and neglect, Lana opened her own law firm, offering a holistic approach to legal representation of the children, youth and adults in criminal and family courts.

While she has enjoyed success and recognition as a trial lawyer, in both criminal and family courts, she always sought an alternative and creative long-term solution for the youth and their families.

Lana has written and lectured on legal topics relating to Child Protective Services regulations and policies, child neglect and abuse laws, domestic violence, including sexual abuse, juvenile delinquency practices and procedures, and professional conduct of litigation in both Criminal and Family Courts.

 MELISSA MEYER, PARALEGAL

Melissa has over fifteen years of experience.  Melissa is a graduate of Hilbert College, with a Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies in 2007 and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 2001. She joined the firm in 2019.

 

Melissa uses her considerable multitasking skills and client care to help families in transition by providing detailed support to the clients and attorneys. From complex litigation to simple settlements, she is involved from beginning to end. Melissa assists clients and the Courts by providing regular contact, managing the discovery process, maintaining the case files, managing deadlines and drafting pleading and letters.

 

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys reading, traveling, and attending concerts with her husband and spending time with their collection of cats.

DANIEL TUPCHIK, LEGAL SECRETARY

Daniel is a legal secretary and has been working with the group for 3 years. He is also a student at University at Buffalo. 

He is responsible for answering phones, scheduling and rescheduling appointments and making initial contact with potential clients.

 

LEO TUPCHIK, ASSISTANT

​

 

 

 

 

 

 

Leo has been part of our team for four years. He provides necessary assistance in archiving cases, billing and other necessary assistance in bookkeeping services. He also assures compliance with IRS, NYS Tax and other requirements. He likes outdoor activities and spends a lot of time outside working on different projects and / or  with the family standard poodle Sparrow.
